Saturday Morning Light

Lettuce Be Inspired

Here is a view from Eastern Market. I love this woman's dress. It reminds me of a lettuce leaf. Lately, I've been enjoying photographing people being themselves. I took this with my iphone and added a few effects. Somehow the blur seemed to work for this image. Have a wonderful day Frieinds!

White Ravens Music

On most Saturday mornings in the summer a band is featured in the gazebo at Eastern Market. On Saturday it was "White Ravens" and they Rock!! These musicians are still in college and new to the music scene. They write their own music and have a rhythm and beat all their own. This is Amy. As artists and musicians, I think when we are in our "zone" we are somewhere else and present at the same time. Today's image completes my mini series on Poignant Moments. This young fellow patiently waited his turn and climbed up onto the saddle with little assistance from the Officer. The horse, understandably so, got a little impatient after having so many admirers on his back, and that was the end of that. But while it lasted, it totally touched my heart and affirmed my belief that we are all connected. And as much as I long to travel to exotic places with my camera, I know that precious moments are waiting in my own back yard, and all I need do is open my eyes. Childhood Joy

I stood mesmerized by this scene, my camera functioning in auto pilot, as I quietly absorbed the Joy of the moment. I love to see delight in a childs face. I loved seeing the warmth being shared by this officer.
