This is the Fisher Building in the New Center area of Detroit. It's an impressive structure and the former headquarters of General Motors.

  1. Gorgeous architecture! Love the POV

  2. Great shot of the Fisher Building! It was actually the home to Fisher Body, the supplier of car frames for General Motors for several years. The actual headquarters for GM until the late 1990’s was across Grand Blvd. in the building now known as Cadillac Square. It is one of my favorite Albert Kahn designed buildings in the city!

    • David,
Thanks so much for stopping by UrbanGritt and for the kind and informative note. I like to research and provide some history on photos like this of the Fisher Building. I posted an earlier entry of this building with some foot notes (different angle) but didn’t realize that General Motors was actually across the street in the Cadillac Building. I’m a big fan of Albert Kahn architecture around the City! Thanks again for taking the time to comment.
      Cathy
